Challenges and Interventions

What are the current problems/pressing issues currently encountered by school community in relation to the Covid19 Pandemic?

Lack of Health Care Facilities like masks, face shields, alcohol, and soap, lack of discipline (teenagers), and basic needs of the community like rice, meat, and others.

Based on the identified problems/issues, what are the perceived needs of the community? In addition, what are the possible interventions to these issues could the school implement?

The school initiated a move by asking well-off parents and teachers to donate canned goods, rice, and other materials like soap, toothpaste, mask and face shield. The barangay officials also extended their assistance to the community.

How can the partnership (between ADDU JHS and the school community) assist in the implementation of possible intervention?

Reading materials, gadgets that could aid the reading habits of the students, and health care facilities.

How can the school community assist the ADDU JHS students?

The teachers in Maa Central can assist the ADDU JHS students in helping our students gain other skills and enhance their literacy and macro-skills and by providing them the materials locally used by the teachers in their remediation and other reinforcement activities aside from what they could offer.

What considerations should the ADDU JHS Community observe while working with the school?

The type of students we have and culture they are in since our students are far different from those who studied at the private institution like the ADDU JHS. Most of our students might also be difficult to handle since not all of them were raised well at home and were coming from different backgrounds. ADDU JHS Community might also lower down their expectation towards the environment of the school and the facilities since our school is not that well provided with the needed instructional and construction materials because of budget constraints.
